Artist Statement
I am foremost a performer and a creator of theatrical movement and sound-scape worlds upon the formal stage and in found spaces and site specific locations. Within my work I am an anthropomorphic container, a vessel, a holder of truths, for untold stories, for voices that have been silenced. Splaying open biography, I investigate and invite the interconnection and the root of humanness. I seek to crack open, with tenderness and honesty, the binds of cultural and social division, that which keep the disenfranchised mute and the enfranchised blind. In body, voice and mind, we are the same, within the recesses of our evolution, a universal language, as per the research of Peter Brook, which illuminates our shared experiences. I seek to find this universality upon the stage as a means to enlighten and free space for dialogue, dialogue which root us in the (auto) biography of ourselves.
